Welcome to Chabad. You Belong :)
Wherever you come from and wherever you are on your Jewish journey, there’s a place for you here. We’re so glad you found us.

A LITTLE HISTORY
Chabad of Sherman Oaks was founded in 1987 with the blessing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneersohn. The Rebbe’s vision was to reach out to every Jew in the world with love, and he accomplished this through the army of Shluchim he sent all across the globe.
We started small, in a rented room in an office building. In 1990 we moved into a storefront. In 1994 we moved into our beautiful current home, right on Ventura Boulevard, and we have been welcoming our fellow Jews through its doors ever since.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Whatever your background, whatever your affiliation, and whatever your level of observance, you are welcome at Chabad. We believe in unconditional acceptance and love for every Jew. You don’t have to know anything, or believe anything, or look any particular way. Just come. Many of the people who join us don’t read Hebrew, and everyone feels at home.

PRAYER SERVICES, SHABBAT AND HOLIDAYS
We hold traditional services every day, and especially on Shabbat and holidays. They are lively, engaging and uplifting, and you are invited to join us. Our prayer book is bilingual, with English readings, so you can follow along and take part. After Shabbat morning services we gather for a Kiddush lunch, where friendships are made and we celebrate each other’s happy occasions. See the schedule of services.

WE’RE HERE FOR YOU
Behind everything we offer at Chabad, there is a simple idea: you matter. Every person matters. Our experienced and engaging Rabbis and Rebbetzins are always available to give personal, one-on-one attention to every individual who needs it. If you have a question, are going through something hard, are celebrating something good, or just want to talk, reach out. Our door is open.
